Dorrian’s Red Hand, located at 555 Washington Boulevard in Jersey City, is hosting two comedy shows per night Saturday, November 6th and Saturday, November 20th at 7PM and 9PM. The Laugh Tour is hosted by comedian Rich Kiamco and will feature comedians from Netflix, The Tonight Show, America’s Got Talent, and more. Saturday’s show tickets purchased online in advance of the show are $15 and are $20 day of and at the door with a 2 item minimum per person.  Food and drinks are available during the show. All indoor events will require proof of vaccination or 72-hour negative test with ID.

When looking locally, a recent study by The Flow Initiative shares that approximately 30% of students in Hudson County face hardship when it comes to access to items such as pads, tampons, sanitary wipes, liners, and more each month. After a successful drive in 2020 that collected over 30,000 supplies, Hoboken Girl and The Flow Initiative have set a lofty goal:

The opening reception of No Boundaries, by artist Laurie Lamont Murray, will take place on Nov. 3rd at 6PM at Pilsener Haus & Biergarten Wintergarten Space located at 1422 Grand Street in Hoboken. No Boundaries features abstract paintings with geometric layouts amidst a collage of different colors and details, allowing each viewer to interpret what images emerge for them. Learn more here.

On November 5th at 8PM, Hoboken resident, Vincent Gazzani, will host a charity event at 80 River Bar and Kitchen to fundraise for Moms Demand Action. The charity is a grassroots movement of Americans fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence. Gazzani was a victim of gun violence after a man went on a shooting rampage killing one and injuring four in San Diego in April 2021. Gazzani was shot 3 times and suffered from a collapsed lung, removal of his spleen and part of his stomach. As a survivor, he wants to spread awareness on gun violence. Learn more here.

True Mentors is Hoboken’s only one-to-one mentor program. The program matches children ages 7-17 with trained mentors. Volunteers are needed to serve as mentors and can sign up to be trained. Volunteers must be 18 years or older and must make at least a 1-year commitment to their mentee for a minimum of 8 hours per month. Learn more here.

The Hoboken Historical Museum was able to open during Phase two of the COVID-19 Reopening Plan. With the ability to accept a limited number of guests and to participate safely in city-wide events, the Hoboken Historical Museum is periodically in need of volunteers.
