Christian Fuchs has proved a popular replica sales choice following his move to expansion side Charlotte FC

Christian Fuchs’ Charlotte FC may be struggling in their debut season in MLS but at least the former Leicester City defender is near the top of one table.

The expansion outfit currently sit 11th of the 14 teams in the Eastern Conference, six points off the final play-off spot.

However, Fuchs is riding high when it comes to replica shirt sales, sitting second only to Gareth Bale.

Rankings are based on overall retail sales of adidas MLS jerseys on MLSstore.com from the beginning of 2022 season through to September 1.

And off the back of Charlotte FC’s most successful inaugural jersey launch in MLS Store history, Fuchs has proved more popular than established MLS stars including Javier Hernandez and Walker Zimmerman.

The 36-year-old is one of just six first-year MLS players to make the top 25, alongside LAFC’s Bale, Douglas Costa (LA Galaxy), Lorenzo Insigne (Toronto FC), Xherdan Shaqiri (Chicago Fire FC) and team-mate Karol Świderski.

Fuchs has made 25 appearances for Charlotte this season, scoring three goals. He was sent off in their last match, a 1-0 win over New York City, for an elbow on Tayvon Gray.
