In collaboration with adidas, we have released a new pre-match jersey for the 2022/23 season which celebrates our Jamaican supporters.
With a vibrant display of energy and style, the jersey features a bold, all-over geometric print in green, gold and black - the colours of the Jamaican flag. With many Jamaicans living in our local community and across the capital, it pays tribute to those who call both north London and Jamaica home.
The campaign mixes football and fashion and features supporters in Jamaica, as well as our players in London wearing the jersey. The jersey will be showcased across the weekend at Notting Hill Carnival, and ahead of our men’s first-team game against Fulham.

The launch follows a series of initiatives that we, alongside adidas, have done to show appreciation for our fanbase. In July, we continued our ”Arsenal Supporting Supporters” campaign by donating £5 from every sale of our 2022/23 home shirt until the start of the new season to the Arsenal Foundation to support local community projects.
Commenting on the new jersey, Emile Smith Rowe - who comes from Jamaican heritage - said: “Football is nothing without the fans, and I’m proud to see adidas and my club continuing to support our supporters from all backgrounds – just like we did when we launched our home shirt this year. It’s a stunning shirt and I’m looking forward to wearing it.”
Arsenal legend, Ian Wright MBE, who was born in London to Jamaican parents, said: “This is much more than a pre-match jersey for me. It represents Arsenal’s history of supporting its players, fans, and communities, far and wide. The club was always a safe place for me to celebrate all the different parts of my history and heritage.”
The new jersey is available to buy today from Arsenal Direct and the Armoury.

Granit Xhaka and his older brother, Taulant, have always been close. With just 18 months separating them, the pair were practically inseparable as children and still speak multiple times a day now.
But back in 2016, the siblings were faced with an unusual situation when Granit’s Switzerland were drawn against Taulant’s Albania at Euro 2016.
The brothers had both represented the country of their birth at youth level but, while Granit continued to play for Switzerland at senior level, Taulant made the decision to switch his allegiance.
“The feeling to play against your own country is unbelievable,” Granit explained recently. “You can't explain that in words. But then to play in a tournament like the Euros against your brother is something you never forget.
“My mum had a shirt which was half Switzerland and half Albania. The first thing our parents told us was to forget for 90 minutes that we are brothers. They told us to do our jobs and that after 90 minutes, we’d be together again.
“I spoke with my brother as well before the game and I said to him ‘listen, if I need to tackle you, can I?’.
It was about doing our job. We couldn’t change that, so we focused and did our job right so nobody could say something to us. After the game, I was the guy who was more happy because we won but the feeling was unbelievable.
“My brother and I are very, very close. Now we both have kids and are married with our own families. But I speak with him maybe five, six or seven times on FaceTime each day.”
