A series of recent leaks have shown off the Germany 2022 World Cup kits.
We’ve taken the grainy social media images and created, as closely as possible, some renderings of what the 4-time world champions are expected to officially unveil in the coming weeks:
Germany 2022 Home World Cup Kit
It’s still mostly white, which is the traditional German home option. But the large center black stripe is somewhat of a departure from most of the home kits we’ve seen in the past which only featured black as as trim color. But here it takes up a good 30% of the design.
The crest and Adidas logo are centered, and done in a metallic gold color, with black Adidas stripes going halfway down shoulders and stopping at the sleeves. The German flag is rendered in a thin ring around the neck, adding a touch of color to the shirt.
Maybe the addition of the front uniform number will add something to it, and of course seeing the real thing in action can change the feel, but the extra wide black stripe down the front just makes this top look clunky. Germany has had some really sharp home tops over the last decade or so and this one just feels like a step backwards.
Germany 2022 Away World Cup Kit
The away top is certainly more intriguing, black with an all-over pattern in maroon that appears to be made of the “DFB” shapes from the Deutscher Fußball-Bund emblem.
The badge, Adidas logo and shoulder stripes are all in the same metallic gold as the home top, and it looks quite nice against the black and maroon background of the top. It’s topped off with black sleeve cuffs and a squared v-neck collar.
This is a better effort than the home and certainly looks promising. Hopefully the shorts and socks are nice compliment and the official release reveals this to be as sharp looking as the leaks are suggesting.

In all fairness, I’ll have to add that I also quite like the team inside of those kits so my opinion may be slightly biased.
Well these reviews are rather subjective. Opinions are like…. My personal one, for what it’s worth, is that I like both kits.
