Football and fashion have intertwined, with the best teams in the world working alongside the biggest sports brands to produce eye-catching kits each season.

AC Milan and Puma have gone for a classic look in 2022-23, with the Rossoneri stripes framed with a black border on the torso, evoking memories of the team's iconic look at the turn of the millennium, from 2000 to 2002.

AC Milan has revisited the classic white away kit which has become a part of the club's famous history. They wore an all-white kit when the club became the first Italian team to win the European Champion Clubs' Cup in 1963. The kit featured horizontal red lines, which is a homage to the kit worn during the 1984-85 season.

Arsenal unveiled their new away kit on July 18, which has been designed as a tribute to the 'Little Islingtons' that support the club from different corners of the globe.

The maiden use of a gold and black colour scheme is underpinned with a striking AFC graphic, while sleeve sponsors Visit Rwanda are back again for the latest adidas offering.

The stylish strip has extra meaning thanks to an endorsement from Orlando Freedom Fighters founder Aston Mack, who made headlines for wearing a Gunners shirt at a Black Lives Matter demonstration in 2020.

Athletic Bilbao are known for their red and white stripes. The colours have been used since 1910 and still form the backbone of its home kit

For thet away kit, however, New Balance and Athletic Bilbao have taken inspiration from the club’s “Los Leones” nickname. The name, which translates as “The Lions,” can be traced back to the club’s origins next to San Mames church, with the grizzly death of the titular saint inspiring the nickname and the name of the club’s current stadium.

Barcelona released their 2022-23 home kit on June 3, with a bold striped design being delivered by suppliers Nike.

The Catalan outfit are famed for their Blaugrana stripes, which have been both wide and narrow down the years, while only once – in 2015-16 – have they strayed from vertical lines to horizontal ones. The 2021-22 kit was slightly lighter in colour than the latest offering, which offers a nod towards the 1992 Olympic Games that were held in Barcelona.

Barcelona released their new away kit on June 27, with the golden design taking inspiration from the Olympic Games.

The city of Barcelona is celebrating the 30th anniversary of when it hosted the Summer Olympics in 1992, and the Blaugrana are hoping to embody the Olympic spirit within their jerseys for the 2022-23 campaign.

The 2022-23 Bayern Munich home kit will be in the traditional red, but this season it will feature horizontal white stripes across the front of the jersey. The stripes will be different sizes, with a white crew-neck collar and cuffs on the sleeves. The Bavarian club will also include a golden badge to commemorate their '10-in-a-row' season.

Bayern Munich’s impressive white away kit was delivered by adidas on July 7, with a sleek design earning plenty of admirers.

The Bundesliga champions said: “Once again the Münchner Kindl, the child of Munich that is the emblematic figure of the city, will adorn the back of the neck.

“The sleeve edges and the three stripes will shine in gold, and the players' kits will be completed by white shorts and white socks. The jersey with the Munich emblem is made of 100 per cent recycled materials.”

After regaining the SPL title last season, Celtic have now unveiled their 2022-23 away kit. For this season’s design, Celtic and adidas have looked into the archives and revived a 30-year-old classic. Referencing 1992’s away shirt, the new kit sports a pinstripe pattern of black, green and white.

Chelsea released their 2022-23 home kit on July 7, with the design by Nike paying homage to former manager Ted Drake.

With it being 70 years since a legendary coach took charge of the west London outfit, there are several features in the Blues’ latest offering that offer a nod towards a visionary tactician that guided the club to their first top-flight title.

Chelsea said: “Symbolic of the club’s determination and fearlessness, the heraldic lion features further on the Henley neckline in a turquoise pattern. A detail that evokes 1950s style with a contemporary twist.”

Chelsea released their 2022/23 away kit - the ice cold lion print stripes designed by Nike - on August 6.

The key element of the new away kit is the return of the popular white base colour, most recently seen during the 2019/20 season. The unique lion pattern that appears on the collar of the home kit now features as turquoise stripes across the away kit. The inner neck design includes ‘Chelsea FC, London’ - a tribute to the city.

Juventus have shown a willingness to experiment with kits in recent seasons and that habit continues in 2022-23, with Adidas producing an unusual take on the vertical bianconeri stripes. The black stripes are made up of a series of triangles in what is an apparent nod to the Piedmont region in which Turin sits.

Juventus have gone for an artistic approach to their away kit this season, which incorporates a stunning star design. The carbon-coloured stars against a black shirt make the embedded print look like it's almost glowing. The combined design elements are inspired by night matches at the Allianz Arena.

Liverpool and Nike continue their partnership in 2022-23, with a new home kit launched in May 2022. In a departure from last season's home kit, it is all red, with the club badge and sponsor insignias a simple white, creating a popping contrast. "Scouse solidarity" is the theme, according to the club.

Manchester City released their new home kit for the 2022-23 campaign in May, with the Blues taking inspiration from “club icon Colin Bell” and “the entertaining teams of the late 1960s”.

The latest offering from PUMA sees the club crest placed “at the centre of the light blue jersey with signature maroon trims on the sleeve cuffs. The crown logo placed inside the neckline pays tribute to ‘Colin the King’.”

Puma has revisited a classic striped design for Manchester City's 2022-23 away kit. The shirt features diagonal red and black stripes which is a throwback to designs seen during the '60s and '70s.

Manchester United released their 2022-23 home kit on June 8, with the tagline "Stand tall. Stand proud. Stand out."

The iconic patterned polo-collar design returns for the first time since 2015. The collared kit is regarded as a cult classic as it has been worn by club legends like Eric Cantona and David Beckham. The white collar features an evolved red geometric design, which references the symbolic ‘M’ detail which featured in our third kit from last season, and the famous ‘Snowflake’ jersey from the 1990-1992 seasons.

It is made completely from recycled materials with the help of Primegreen technology by Adidas.

Manchester United released their “day or night, dressed in white” away kit on July 16.

Similar to the club’s home offering for the upcoming campaign, the Red Devils have opted to incorporate their club crest within a shield this time around – with that approach throwing back to 2006-07 and the iconic kits from a historic 1999 Treble-winning campaign.

United say: “Inspired by the rich, graphical DNA of Manchester United shirts from the past, the fluid lines represent elements of the 1990s, with the engineered collars and cuffs also inspired by the strong visual identity of the club.”

Manchester United unveiled their new third kit for 2022-23 on August 12, revealing a luminous, never before seen all-over green. Following on from this season's previous releases, adidas look to pay homage to legacy kits of the past while taking a bold step with a fresh design.

The new Paris Saint-Germain home kit for 2022-23 features an up-to-date Hechter stripe design that runs down the shirt's centre. But, it still keeps to the colourway synonymous with the club - classic navy, red and white.

Paris Saint-Germain released their 2022-23 away kit on July 19, with the club continuing their association with the Jordan brand as a collection of performance, training and lifestyle rangers were also unveiled.

The design marks the club's 120th anniversary and features purple detailing alongside an iconic all-white design. The Liga champions consider their latest offering to "celebrate the past, present and future".

The jersey is imbued with an allusion to the mountains that loom to Madrid's north and, in contrast to the home kit, there is a crew-neck collar, which is black. Purple and pink have been commonly used by Real in recent seasons, with this edition bringing a whole new tone.

Tottenham released their 2022-23 home kit on June 7, with a ‘Dare To Do’ tag line providing “a contemporary twist” on the club’s “iconic motto”.

Spurs believe that the concept from Nike “brings a sense of authenticity and togetherness amongst our fans”, with the lilywhite jersey made from 100 per cent recycled polyester while a “neon volt” adds a touch of something different to an otherwise classic design.

Tottenham has 'dared to go bold' by adding bright neon volt to their away kit. The shirt is dressed in a deep blue and contrasted with black sleeves to make the bright green stand out. Nike's famous swoosh and the club's cockerel emblem are positioned front and centre of the shirt.

West Ham United have unveiled their brand new home shirt for the 2022-23 season, inspired by the iconic jersey worn by Billy Bond's promotion-winning side from 30 years ago. But, with the east London side playing in another European competition next season, the kit marks the start of the modern age for the Hammers.

West Ham delivered their 2022-23 away kit on July 7, with a bold back design favoured by supplies Umbro.

The Premier League outfit, who will be gracing a Europa Conference League stage this season, said: “The away kit takes inspiration from the Hammers’ roots deep in the heart of the capital’s vibrant East End.

“Its black body is complemented by sleeve accents of white, pink and sky blue, whose patterns are inspired by the 100-year-old ship slipway at Thames Ironworks, which was uncovered in the construction of the recently-opened Elizabeth line, and give a fresh look to the kits which Hammers everywhere will wear on their travels this season.”

West Ham released their third kit for 2022-23 on August 16 accompanied by a “Stronger than Iron” tagline.

The Hammers said of the design, which was delivered in partnership with Umbro: “The third kit’s striking design features a White Shirt with a vibrant spark – inspired by the club’s roots deep in the heart of London’s East End at Thames Ironworks. The third kit brings a slick and modern design twist to the club’s proud industrial heritage and complements our claret & blue home and black away kits.”
