Women’s Euro 2022 commercial guide: Every team, every sponsor, every venue and all the major TV deals - SportsPro

After a year’s delay, the long-awaited 2022 Uefa Women’s European Championship finally gets underway on 6th July when host nation England take on Austria at Old Trafford in Manchester.

The 16-team tournament may have been pushed back a year but that has done little to temper expectations for an occasion that is expected to break more records in women’s soccer. With 31 games being staged at ten stadiums across nine cities, English soccer’s Football Association (FA) is anticipating ‘the biggest women’s European sport event in history’ and expects it to deliver UK£54 million (US$65 million) in economic activity.

By May more than 400,000 tickets had been sold for games during the competition, meaning it is already on track to dwarf the record 240,000 fans that attended the last edition of the Women’s Euro in the Netherlands in 2017. With broadcasts being beamed into 195 territories, European soccer’s governing body Uefa estimates that the tournament is going to be watched by a live global audience of more than 250 million.

Speaking at the 46th Uefa Congress in Vienna in May, Nadine Kessler, the governing body’s chief of women’s football, said: “The train has not only left the station, but it is well on its journey. This tournament will provide world class football, it will break records, leave a lasting legacy and welcome everyone.”

With just days until kick-off, SportsPro provides a commercial preview of every nation competing at this summer’s Women’s Euro, as well as a rundown of all the sponsors, broadcasters and venues hosting matches.
